Michael Mainelli

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Michael Mainelli has worked in the medical device industry for over twenty-five years, serving the diagnostic imaging, surgical, and orthopedic markets. He has extensive international experience having led operations in the UK and Israel. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Stanmore Implants Worldwide, LTD from 2013 to 2016, a UK based specialty orthopaedics company, and led the sale of the company to Stryker Corporation. Prior to Stanmore, he was the CEO of Active Implants Corporation, an early stage company developing an innovative meniscal implant, from 2008 to 2011. Prior to Active Implants, he was the Group President of the Medical Device Segment of Intermagnetics General Corporation from 2005 to 2006 before the company was acquired by Royal Philips. Prior to employment by Intermagnetics, Mr. Mainelli was with Stryker Corporation serving in the positions of VP-Corporate Development, Assistant to the Chairman, President-Stryker Japan and President-Stryker Spine. Prior to Stryker, he was employed by General Electric in various management roles. He has served on the board of directors of Orthofix International, a publicly traded medical device company, and Active Implants Corporation and Stanmore Implants, which were VC-backed privately-owned companies. He currently serves on the board of directors of Autocam Medical, a privately-owned medical device contract manufacturing company. He earned a MBA from the University of Chicago, a MSE from the University of Pennsylvania and a BSME from Northeastern University. Mr. Mainelli brings strong experience in the implant and medical device industries to the Board of Directors.

Kevin Brandt

Sr. Vice President and Chief Commercialization Officer

Mr. Brandt brings to Xtant more than 28 years of experience in the medical device industry. As the former executive vice president and chief commercial officer of RTI Surgical, Inc.’s domestic direct business, Brandt led all domestic direct lines of business and R&D for a global surgical implant company marketing biologic, medical and synthetic implants. Prior to joining RTI Surgical in 2012, Brandt spent 18 years at Stryker Corporation from 1994-2012 in various senior commercial leadership positions. Most notably, while at Stryker he served as President of Osteokinetics from 2002-2012 as one of their largest distributors and prior to that he was Senior Director of US Spine sales from 2000-2001 responsible for creating and leading Stryker’s US Spine sales organization.

Kathie Lenzen

Chief Financial Officer

Kathie Lenzen brings over 36 years of financial experience to Xtant. Most recently, Ms. Lenzen served as the senior vice president and general manager of Astora Women’s Health division. Prior to being in this position, she was the vice president of finance for American Medical Systems and drove financial performance to ensure EBITDA growth consistently outpaced revenue growth. She is versed in cross-departmental collaboration from a financial perspective, knowledgeable about information systems, restructuring for profitability, and merger and acquisition activities.

Ron Berlin

Chief Operations Officer

Ron Berlin brings over 35 years of operations experience to Xtant. Most recently, Mr. Berlin served as Vice President of Global Operations for CoorsTek Medical. Prior to that role, he held positions of Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing and Procurement and Vice President, Operations for Integra LifeSciences. Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of Global Operations at Stryker Orthopaedics, which was at the time a division of Stryker Corporation. He is well versed in all aspects of medical device and tissue processing operations and quality assurance. He has a proven track record for improving compliance and quality, cost effectiveness, asset utilization, and continuous improvement programs based on Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Implementation, as well as managing the implementation of M&A programs.

Gregory Juda

Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Juda joined Bacterin International in 2005 and played an integral role in the growth of Bacterin’s biomaterials business from pre-revenue to almost $40 million in annual revenue at the time of the merger with X-Spine Systems. During his time with the company, Dr. Juda has been responsible for guiding the development, commercialization, and clinical marketing of all of Bacterin’s allograft product lines including the OsteoSponge, OsteoSelect, hMatrix, and 3Demin product families. Dr. Juda directed clinical research efforts for the Bacterin subsidiary from 2012-2015 resulting in a dossier of peer-reviewed publications that highlight the clinical success of these products. Currently, he directs Research and Development efforts for Xtant Medical and serves as a primary source of technical expertise for the company’s Sales and Marketing initiatives. Dr. Juda’s current research interests include novel surface modification of orthopedic hardware and the development of enhanced biomaterials for tissue repair and replacement. He received a BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a PhD in Biochemistry from Montana State University.

Anthony DeFalco

Vice President of Product Development and Operations

Mr. DeFalco has over 18 years of experience developing mechanical and electro-mechanical medical devices with a focus during the last 13 years specifically on spinal orthopedics. He has held R&D, Operations and Customer Service positions in FDA Class I – Class III medical device companies. Prior to joining Xtant Medical as its Director of Engineering in October 2015, he spent 11 years with Biomet Spine (ZimmerBiomet Spine) in multiple positions with increasing levels of leadership responsibility. He earned two Bachelor of Science in Engineering degrees with specialties in Biomedical and Environmental Engineering from Mercer University.
